The objective of this project is to adopt the Eclipse platform along with its associated tools and frameworks as a base for teaching and maintaining 'good software development practices' within Genesys. In our past projects we have been successfully using the eXtreme Programming methodology; we will therefore concentrate on the most important practices proposed by XP, which include:

• source code management (using CVS)
• coding standards
• test-driven development (using JUnit)
• code refactoring
• one-step-build process (using Ant)

As a result of the project a set of lectures and tutorials on best software practices will be produced using the Eclipse platform for illustration and practical training. These will be available in the documentation section of this web site. Also, a set of project management Eclipse plugins will be developed and made available on the download page.
